Greetings!
I’m Joshua Conrad, licensed massage therapist, and a resident of
Athens County since 1995. I have a continuing commitment to serve
the health and well being of our wonderful community and my goal
is to provide the best session possible, from calming relaxation
to deep tissue treatment.
A graduate of Ohio University in 2000 and the Hocking College Massage
Therapy program in 2004, I continue to study and explore various
body work modalities to provide an integrative approach to client
care and treatment. I am trained in a variety of techniques including:
Swedish, fascial release, trigger point/NMJ therapy, active release,
orthopedic assessment, hot stone massage, Thai massage, cranio-sacral
therapy, PIMR stretching, and I studied Shiatsu with my friend and
mentor, Al Thunderbear, a student of Wataru Ohashi at the Ohashi
Institute in New York City.
In addition to my training I’ve practiced in professional settings
that have increased my clinical understandings and allowed me to
develop comprehensive approaches to treatment. I’ve worked with
Dr. Keith Taulbee in Logan, both as a massage therapist and strength
training specialist, establishing an adept understanding of a number
of musculoskeletal conditions and therapies. In addition I’ve had
the pleasure of being a part of the Blue Valley Massage traveling
massage and spa team in the Hocking Hills.
When I’m not practicing , I love to continue to explore the area
with my wife and our two wiley dogs, I still haven’t given up on
my adolescent hobby of skateboarding, and I continue trying to figure
out which end is up on this damned mandolin
